Crime in the Rock” – Celluloid & Cyanide?

St Beatus hoehlen Cr Beatushoehlen Genossenschaft5

Dimmed light flickers between stalactites, footsteps echo through the narrow passages. Every voice sounds more suspicious than usual. A murder. A mountain. No escape. Deep within the rock, the perfect setting for a crime evening unfolds. As the story progresses, reality and fiction begin to blur — and the caves themselves seem to become part of the mystery. Tension hangs in the air; every glance, every movement could prove decisive.

Accompanied by an exquisite three-course menu, guests step into the role of investigators and follow the trail of a cunning culprit. The case to be solved among stalactite formations is complex and layered. The occasion is the 20th anniversary of the film Blutbande, celebrated by the core team of Förster Film Studios. Yet the festive evening ends abruptly when star actress Mireille Fix collapses after drinking a poisoned cocktail. Now it is up to Commissioner Nora Leonhard — and the guests themselves — to uncover dark secrets, old rivalries and deadly motives. Between stalagmites and stalactites, the case builds toward a dramatic climax.

Who can truly be trusted deep within the rock? An evening filled with suspense, culinary pleasure and unexpected twists. A must for crime and puzzle enthusiasts.

Leaving everyday life behind. Arriving. Enjoying. From the very moment guests enter the St. Beatus Caves, a special sense of calm unfolds. Between rock, water and millennia-old stalactites, an atmosphere emerges that slows the pace and draws attention to what truly matters.

During the cave raclette, Switzerland’s national dish meets an extraordinary setting. The delicate aroma of melted cheese fills the cave air, accompanied by the soft dripping of water and the laughter of guests. The cool rock surroundings form a soothing contrast to the warmth at the table, turning a meal into a shared experience.

Raclette stands for closeness, sharing and genuine conviviality. Deep within the caves, this tradition becomes especially tangible. Fully equipped with everything a raclette evening requires, guests enjoy an experience that lingers long after the evening ends — quiet, cosy and unforgettable.

St. Beatus Caves – Between Rock, Water and Legends

Deep inside the mountain, water has shaped a hidden world over thousands of years. Stalactites grow to the rhythm of time, underground streams disappear into darkness, and gorges and grottos open like gateways to another reality. Of the approximately 14 kilometres of explored cave passages, only about one kilometre is accessible to visitors. The rest remains untouched, left to the mountain itself. Legends have long surrounded the St. Beatus Caves. According to one tale, a dragon once lived in the dark passages until it was driven out in the 7th or 8th century by the Irish monk Beatus, who banished it into the depths of Lake Thun.

The caves were first opened to visitors in the 19th century. Yet their magic has endured. The St. Beatus Caves are more than a natural monument. They are a place where time, myth and nature intertwine — and where one senses that not everything needs to be visible in order to have an effect.
