In the heart of Paris’ historic 5th arrondissement, just a stone’s throw from the Jardin des Plantes, the Panthéon, and the Sorbonne, Locke has opened its first hotel in France: Le Jardin de Verre by Locke.

Combining old buildings and industrial history, the new aparthotel offers an interesting architectural contrast. The listed structure of a former glass factory blends with a modern, green oasis featuring plenty of light, space, and a subtle nod to the French art de vivre.

Urban jungle meets interior poetry

The heart of the project is the courtyard designed by Fettle Studio (London/LA), showcasing a lush plant concept that runs like a common thread through the public areas – from the lobby with its terracotta floors to the atrium with its yellow striped banquettes, rattan, fairy lights, and floral patterned umbrellas. The atmosphere? It meanders between an urban garden party and a design-savvy lounge.

Design merging Parisian elegance and industrial chic

The 145 apartments and studios each interpret the spirit of the building in their own way: Haussmann elegance meets industrial accents and unique textiles from Studio Knot. Particularly charming are the two signature suites, the Begonia’ and the Roseraie’ – the latter featuring a free-standing bathtub beneath a glass roof and offering a view of the inner courtyard.

From café to cocktails: a variety of pleasures at Locke

When it comes to cuisine, they want to offer more than just breakfast: Bibie’ is the name of the in-house gastronomic concept – with a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, wine counter, and a green inner courtyard that serves as a showcase for Parisian savoir-vivre.
