While the Greek island of Corfu still moves to a winter rhythm, attention already turns toward the upcoming travel season. With the opening of Wyndham Corfu Acharavi in December, a new beachfront resort has arrived — one that will truly come into its own as spring approaches.
The property marks Wyndham’s debut on Corfu and further expands Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ presence in Greece and Cyprus to a total of 15 hotels.
Seven Kilometres of Sand and Venetian Flair
The resort sits on the island’s northern coast, surrounded by lush vegetation and directly on a stretch of nearly seven kilometres of sandy beach near Acharavi. From here, guests enjoy sweeping views across the Ionian Sea, including the sunsets for which Corfu has long been celebrated. The hotel’s Venetian-inspired architecture reflects the island’s layered history while pairing it with contemporary resort comfort. The project was developed in collaboration with the Mercan Group, one of Europe’s leading hotel developers.
Wyndham Corfu Acharavi currently offers 163 rooms, suites and apartments. Over the coming months, the resort plans to expand with more than 100 additional premium rooms. Many accommodations feature sea views, while some include private plunge pools. Its setting makes it easy to combine beachside relaxation with island life: the centre of Acharavi, along with numerous tavernas and beachfront restaurants, lies within walking distance.
Culinary Variety Between Buffet and Modern Greek Cuisine
Dining at the resort focuses on variety. The Theos Main Restaurant brings together generous buffet offerings with live cooking stations, while the Olive Specialty Restaurant reinterprets classic Greek cuisine through a modern lens. Cafés and snack bars around the pool and beach areas complete the experience — ideal for unhurried days by the sea.
Spa, Sport and Island Moments for Every Generation
Wellbeing plays a central role as well. Guests have access to a spa with sauna, treatment rooms and relaxation areas, a modern fitness studio, two outdoor pools, a children’s pool, and a wide range of sports and leisure activities, including tennis, boat excursions and cycling tours. Families also benefit from a playground and spacious outdoor grounds.
“Corfu ranks among the most sought-after destinations in the Mediterranean. With Wyndham Corfu Acharavi, we are opening our first branded hotel on the island — directly on one of its longest beaches,” says Vassilis Themelidis, Regional Director South & East Europe at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. For the Mercan Group, the resort represents an equally significant milestone. “With its natural beauty and cultural treasures, Corfu offers the ideal setting for our vision,” adds Theodoros Kioutsoukis, President of Mercan Greece.
Following its December opening, the focus now shifts to spring — when Corfu reveals its especially green and tranquil side, and Wyndham Corfu Acharavi emerges as a new address for travellers seeking relaxation, seaside ease and authentic island experiences in one.
