When Verbier becomes a stage in summer, winter sports recede into the background for a few weeks. International soloists, conductors, chamber musicians and young talents then gather in the Valais mountain village for a festival that has long been one of Switzerland’s defining cultural events.

Since its founding in 1994, the Verbier Festival has made a name for itself far beyond Switzerland’s borders. Today, it is one of the most important meeting points of the international classical music scene. World-class artists come to Valais, as do young musicians taking their first important steps in their careers. It is precisely this connection that continues to shape the character of the festival. While some of the most important artists of our time perform on its stages, young talents work together with experienced musicians at the Verbier Festival Academy, attend masterclasses and gain valuable stage experience. The festival understands itself not only as a concert organiser, but also as a training ground for the next generation of classical musicians. In 2026, Verbier once again focuses on this mixture of experience and new beginnings. Guests include Simon Rattle, Evgeny Kissin, Joshua Bell, Alexandre Kantorow and Yunchan Lim, among others — names that have for years been among the defining figures of the international music world. At the same time, the festival offers young talents the rare opportunity to work with some of the finest artists of their time.

From 16 July to 2 August 2026, Verbier will once again transform into a meeting point for the international classical music scene. The programme includes orchestral concerts, chamber music, solo recitals, masterclasses and numerous events of the Verbier Festival Academy. Artists include Simon Rattle, Evgeny Kissin, Joshua Bell, Alexandre Kantorow, Yunchan Lim and many other soloists, conductors and ensembles of international standing.
