With a horizontal propulsion power of 100 kW and a top speed of up to nine knots, the Super Sub is among the fastest civilian submersibles ever built. However, the sensation of movement is even more crucial than raw speed: ascent and descent angles of up to 45 degrees allow for navigation that feels more like flight maneuvers than the slow progression of traditional submersibles. The engineers pursued a clear vision: the Super Sub should not feel like a lumbering underwater vehicle, but like a three-dimensionally steerable performance object. Hydrodynamic lift plays a central role, ensuring smooth and controlled acceleration beneath the surface.

Despite its dynamic design, safety remains a core element of the concept. The Super Sub is designed for operations at depths of up to 300 meters and has a range of up to ten nautical miles. During testing, the entire system — from propulsion and steering to redundant life-support systems — was verified under real-world conditions. A high-precision sonar system continuously scans the seabed and automatically adjusts the trajectory. This combination of sensors and control ensures that the vehicle can move with precision even in complex underwater landscapes. Certification by the classification society DNV underscores its technical standards.

Inside, the Super Sub prioritizes maximum transparency. The spherical acrylic pressure hull provides an almost uninterrupted view of the surroundings, while the cockpit is ergonomically designed to keep the pilot and passengers at the heart of the action. The design follows principles from aviation and automotive styling rather than traditional maritime models. The exterior also stands out from traditional submersibles. The wing-like shape generates lift and gives the Super Sub a visual lightness that contrasts with its technical complexity. Underwater, the craft appears less like a piece of equipment and more like a precisely drawn object in motion.

Designed for use on superyachts or as a standalone platform, the Super Sub opens up new possibilities for private ocean exploration. Larger areas can be covered within a single dive, while detailed inspections of reefs, drop-offs, or wrecks remain possible. With the delivery of this model, U‑Boat Worx marks a significant step in the evolution of private underwater technology.
