Celebrate, marvel, and enjoy together. The Zurich Christmas Village delights visitors with its diversity, atmosphere, and surprising highlights.
A place to meet friends, find gifts, enjoy delicacies, and soak up the special Advent atmosphere. The Zurich Christmas Village on Sechseläutenplatz will once again be transformed into a glittering winter wonderland full of lights, scents, and discoveries. Set against the backdrop of the opera house and overlooking the lake, it invites you to stroll, marvel, and linger. Over 100 market stalls with exhibitors that change on a weekly basis present handicrafts, design pieces, local specialities, and gift ideas.
A marketplace of ideas
This is where craftsmanship meets contemporary design. Jewellery that tells a story, handmade treasures from Portugal, high-quality olive wood products from Basel, fine Indian handicrafts, stylish accessories for dogs and their owners, and sustainable fashion, such as swimwear and jackets made from recycled river plastic. At the lovingly designed market stalls, tradition, creativity, and innovation merge to create a unique shopping experience.
A culinary world tour on Sechseläutenplatz
From Hungarian delicacies and Breton galettes to Neapolitan doughnuts and spicy pizokels. More than 35 food stalls tempt visitors with regional and international specialities, sweet treats, and fine vegan creations. A paradise for foodies!
2025 programme
Once again this year, the Zurich Christmas Village will offer a wealth of atmospheric highlights. Right at the start, Christian Ziegler’s thrilling fire show is sure to guarantee spectacular moments and an impressive start to the Advent season. The stilt walkers from Joanna Peacock in London will make your eyes sparkle and create a magical atmosphere. Their elaborate costumes and breathtaking performance promise to transport the audience into a winter wonderland.
Speaking of wonderlands: there is also plenty for younger guests to enjoy. In a magic course, they can design their own Christmas magic kit, while in the elf village they can design their own costumes together with staff from the opera house’s costume department. And of course, one thing cannot be missing: the fairy tale hour. Professional storytellers will enchant the youngest visitors with well-known and lesser-known tales from around the world. An atmospheric experience for the whole family.
Reduce, reuse, recycle
In 2023, the entire Wienachtsdorf at Bellevue switched to reusable items in order to avoid disposable plastic as much as possible. A carefully developed concept ensures that, unless there is a ‘pack-in-bread’ solution, food is served on reusable plates and drinks in reusable cups at all food stands. The reusable tableware is returned via numerous deposit boxes, supported by an interactive site map.
A feast for all the senses – right in the heart of Zurich. All information regarding the Wienachtsdorf.
