On the coast of Canggu — shaped by surf culture and creative energy — a new chapter of Balinese luxury hospitality begins. With the opening of Regent Bali Canggu, the storied Regent brand celebrates its debut in Indonesia.

Set between the Indian Ocean and gently terraced rice fields, the resort positions itself as a retreat of tranquillity, while offering a contemporary interpretation of luxury that places reduction, sensuality and inspiration at its core.

The resort marks a strategic repositioning of the Regent brand, now part of IHG Hotels & Resorts: away from overstatement and towards a conscious experience of the essential. A total of 150 rooms, suites and villas are located directly by the sea, opening towards the horizon through expansive glass façades and offering views of the ocean or tropical gardens. Selected residences feature direct access to the lagoon, while the 618-square-metre penthouse makes a striking statement with its private beachfront infinity pool.

In terms of design, the property draws deeply from its surroundings. Architecturally conceived by WATG, with interiors by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), stone, teakwood and marble echo the organic contours of the rice terraces. Celadon hues reflect the sea, while filtered daylight creates a balanced interplay between openness and retreat. Characteristic of Regent are the so-called Personal Havens — intimate zones throughout the resort that allow for both privacy and sociability, enhanced by modern technology and individually customisable.

Culinary experiences at Regent Bali Canggu are clearly defined. Six restaurants and bars invite guests on a journey through Balinese, Asian and international flavours. Two signature concepts are overseen by multi-award-winning chef Andrew Walsh: the Mediterranean-inspired Sazón, with its relaxed neighbourhood character, and Cure Bali, opening in early 2026, which continues the philosophy of the Michelin-starred Cure restaurant in Singapore. A particular highlight is the world’s first Regent Spa, developed in collaboration with IHG wellness specialists Raison d’Etre. Indonesia’s rich healing traditions meet contemporary spa concepts here: crystals, light frequencies and carefully choreographed rituals accompany treatments ranging from Balinese massages to the Massage Revolution” performed on warm quartz sand. Hydro-wellness areas, ice pools, saunas and a 24-hour health club complete the offering.

Personalised service lies at the heart of the experience. Regent Experience Agents curate each stay individually — from surf lessons at Canggu’s legendary breaks to helicopter arrivals. Thoughtful details such as the no sand in your luggage” guarantee underline the ambition to redefine luxury as effortless and intuitive.

With its coastal location on Bali, architectural restraint and a strong focus on sensuality and service, Regent Bali Canggu positions itself as a new flagship of modern resort culture — a place where the powerful energy of the ocean and the quiet depth of the island find their balance.
