New Four Seasons Opens on Mykonos

Mykonos has a new luxury hotel: with the opening of the Four Seasons Resort Mykonos in the sheltered bay of Kalo Livadi, the island reveals a more tranquil side of itself. Located just around 20 minutes from both the airport and Chora, the resort focuses less on grand spectacle and more on an elegant interplay of architecture, landscape and Mediterranean lifestyle.

The new property comprises 94 rooms, suites and villas and has been developed on an expansive seafront estate. Architecturally, the resort draws inspiration from the distinctive style of renowned Greek architect Nicos Valsamakis, whose modernist language continues to shape contemporary Greek architecture. The interiors, designed by Wimberly Interiors, translate the characteristic colours and light of the Aegean into a warm and understated aesthetic defined by natural materials, soft tones and generous transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. The landscape design by Helli Pangalou integrates the resort sensitively into the coastal environment, creating a property that feels remarkably natural despite its scale.

From a culinary perspective, Four Seasons has developed several concepts that go far beyond traditional hotel dining. ALEF is dedicated to Mediterranean grilling by the sea, while KAFENEO offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Greek coffee house. At CORBU, designed by New York’s Rockwell Group, Italian-inspired coastal cuisine meets relaxed island flair. The restaurants are intentionally designed to attract not only hotel guests but also locals and visitors to the island, creating a stronger connection between the resort and its surroundings.

The wellness area is equally generous: Horai Spa includes six treatment rooms, a spa garden, sauna, steam bath, vitality pool, as well as yoga and fitness areas. Two infinity pools, a private beach, water sports offerings and a supervised Kids Club complete the experience. Even a small chapel for intimate ceremonies is part of the resort.

What is most remarkable, however, is the atmosphere of the property. While Mykonos in many places is known for maximum visibility, beach clubs and long nights, the new Four Seasons feels surprisingly understated. Less party hotspot, more retreat – with the quiet form of luxury that many travellers are now seeking in the Cyclades.
