At the end of 2025, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will open its first hotel in Austria – at the heart of Vienna, in a historic building on Riemergasse that once housed the Vienna Commercial Court. The brand is thus expanding its European portfolio with another architectural gem – following the launch of iconic locations in London, Paris and Barcelona.

The listed building was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century by Alfred Keller in the Viennese Modernist style and has now been carefully restored. Historical elements such as staircases, ironwork and stucco ceilings have been preserved and complemented by clean, contemporary lines – a dialogue between past and present, typically Viennese in that it occupies that field of tension between opulence and minimalism.

The hotel has 138 rooms and suites, including the 157 m² Royal Suite with private kitchen and high ceilings. Warm grey tones, blush and light blue dominate the colour scheme, inspired by the Vienna Secession.

Four gastronomic concepts bring cuisine and culture into harmony: Le Sept with its modern seafood cuisine, the all-day Atelier 7 Brasserie, the contemporary Café as a reinterpretation of Viennese coffee house culture, and the Izakaya & Bar, where Asian flavours meet Art Nouveau.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Vienna offers seven treatment rooms, a 13-metre indoor pool, and the Essence of Vienna’, a signature treatment that combines music and massage.

Viennese artist Peter Jellitsch designed the hotel’s distinctive fan – a composition of movement and structure, symbolising the balance that characterises this hotel. The result is a venue in Vienna that respects history but looks to the future – a hotel that redefines the quiet elegance of the city.
