Cesare Barro and Emanuela Cattaneo have successfully combined historical heritage and contemporary luxury in the design of the Palazzo Durazzo in Genoa.
The careful restoration respected the original architectural features, such as the lavishly decorated facades, elegant salons, frescoes and terrazzo floors. Each of the twelve individually designed suites combines historical elements with modern Italian design accents, including hand-picked antiques and elegant bathrooms. Particular highlights include the ceiling frescoes by Domenico Parodi and the artistically designed shell and coral decorations. This harmonious combination of old and new is also indicative of the general approach of Cesare Barro and Emanuela Cattaneo, who often seek to preserve buildings in their current state while gently breathing new life into them.
