With Ikos Kissamos, the Greek hotel group Ikos Resorts will expand its portfolio in the Mediterranean in April 2026 with another property. At the same time, it will be the brand’s first resort on the island of Crete. The project is located on the wide bay of Kissamos in the northwest of the island, a region known for its unspoiled landscape and some of the most spectacular coastal stretches of Crete.
With 414 rooms and suites, the new resort ranks among the larger hotel developments on the island. Some of the accommodations feature private pools or direct access to shared pool areas. The resort stretches along a long beach section of Kissamos Bay and takes advantage of its open position overlooking the sea and the surrounding mountains.
In recent years, the region around Kissamos has increasingly developed into a starting point for nature and beach tourism. From here, some of Crete’s most famous landscapes can be reached, including the Balos Lagoon, the pink-sand beach of Elafonisi and the extensive coastline of Falasarna. These natural sites are among the most important attractions in the western part of the island.
Architecturally, the resort draws inspiration from the landscape and the building traditions of the region. Light natural materials, open structures and generous outdoor spaces define the design. The aim was to combine modern resort architecture with local design elements and to integrate the complex as harmoniously as possible into the coastal landscape.
Ikos Resorts follows a luxury all-inclusive concept for its properties that includes not only gastronomy and accommodation, but also activities, entertainment and services. The offer is aimed at both couples and families and includes sports facilities, children’s programmes as well as wellness and leisure options.
With the opening of Ikos Kissamos, the brand’s portfolio will grow to eight resorts in the Mediterranean. At the same time, the project underlines the growing importance of Crete as a location for high-quality holiday hospitality, particularly in regions of the island that have so far been less intensively developed for tourism.
