A new go-to destination by the Red Sea? Kempinski Hotel & Resort Sariya

Saudi Arabia is looking to set new standards in the luxury hotel industry, and the Kempinski Hotel & Resort Sariya is one of the first stops on this journey. The aim is to combine European luxury with Arabian hospitality, but above all to showcase the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia. We start on the Red Sea coast, just a few minutes’ walk from the lively city of Yanbu. Here, on Al Mahar Island, stands the region’s first five-star resort – a retreat that combines modern comfort with elegance. 118 rooms and suites, many with lagoon or sea views, make for an exclusive haven of peace and tranquillity. When it comes to events, the Kempinski Sariya has a 1,302 square metre ballroom that is perfect for exclusive weddings, gala dinners and conferences. The hotel also offers three modern meeting rooms that are ideal for smaller business or private events.

Park Lane: a cinematic transformation

Guests from all over the world are now being welcomed to a place where the first colour films were once screened – The Park Lane in Copenhagen has undergone a transformation that is well worth seeing in 2025. There is little sign of Scandinavian minimalism here as the former cinema is now characterised by natural tones, fine marble and luxurious materials. The 1920s building has been transformed by &TEMPEL into a stylish boutique hotel that combines history with modern design. High ceilings, restored stucco detailing and magnificent chandeliers tell the story of the past, while herringbone parquet flooring, custom-made wallpaper and Italian design elements represent the new look. Park Lane is located in Hellerup, an affluent district which is quiet but has good connections to the city centre. Charlottenlund Palace and the Michelin-starred restaurant The Samuel are both located in close proximity.

Inspired by botany: the Brunfels Hotel in Mainz

After the soft launch came the big moment: the Brunfels Hotel celebrated its official opening in Mainz by inviting 150 guests. Named after Otto Brunfels, one of the“Fathers of Botany”, the hotel truly lives up to its name. As soon as guests enter the building, they are greeted by rooms with lush plants, verdant greenery and a vibrant atmosphere – spaces that create a connection between nature and city life. A stylish, inviting environment is created through the combination of art deco elements, warm wood tones and soft colours. Much of the furniture was handmade, designed by Studio Kin, a Stockholm design studio, and crafted by Kraków-based specialistsFande. The owners are particularly proud of their culinary concept. Having previously trained under Tim Raue, chef Kevin Petersen and his team focus on a sophisticated yet distinct cuisine. Breakfast, for example, offers classics combined with modern creations such asEgg Brunfels with cured salmon or ham on sourdough brioche.
