In the heart of the high alpine mountain village of Sulden, the traditional Hotel DIE POST am Ortler will be celebrating its reopening in December – and after twelve months of construction, it will be opening its doors as a 4‑star superior hotel with a completely new look.

Two years of planning went into a project that combines history and modernity in equal measure: while the listed part of the building has been preserved, the 73 rooms and suites, lobby, restaurant, and spacious wellness area of the Hotel DIE POST now shine with a contemporary new design.

Luxury with down-to-earth South Tyrolean style

Hoteliers Verena and Andreas Wallnöfer speak of a courageous step: We wanted to create a place where lightness meets luxury – without losing that down-to-earth quality typical of South Tyrol.’ Glass fronts, natural stone, and warm wood structures lend an air of openness to the architecture, while private hot tubs and saunas on the balconies of the new luxury suites are topped off with a superb view of the majestic Ortler (rising to an altitude of 3,905 m).

Full pampering programme

The centrepiece is the newly designed «Ortles Spa³». Six saunas, relaxation rooms, and indoor and outdoor pools await guests in an area spanning 4,200 square metres. A natural swimming pond with lounge chairs creates an area of quiet retreat, while a «Family.SPA» with a slide, indoor pool, and supervised kids’ club is sure to make families feel welcome. Treatments with regional essences, a «Spa.Bistro», and adults-only areas round off the concept.

The hotel also sets the tone in culinary terms: from a rich South Tyrolean breakfast to a lunch buffet and multi-course evening menus, guests can experience regional origins reinterpreted in a fresh and exciting new way.

A dream destination for winter sports enthusiasts

Of all the areas in South Tyrol, Sulden itself is considered to be one that offers the most reliable guarantee of snow. 44 kilometres of slopes between 1,900 and 3,250 metres above sea level promise the chance to ski right through to May. The hotel offers special packages for the festive Mountain Christmas event running from 20 to 27 December.

With its reopening, DIE POST am Ortler presents itself as a modern hideaway – rooted in the history of the village and open to guests who seek luxury, nature, and hospitality in equal measure.
