A Culinary Journey of Discovery in the Heart of the Alps

Top gastronomy meets regional producers and culinary discoveries. From 5 to 13 September 2026, Vaduz’s “Städtle” will once again become a hotspot for everyone who loves good food.

Our neighbour Liechtenstein may be one of Europe’s smallest countries in terms of area, but in culinary terms the principality has long been playing in a much bigger league. Nestled between some of the most renowned gourmet regions of the Alpine world, it combines influences from Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Italy. It is precisely this diversity that the Genussfestival Vaduz will place in the spotlight from 5 to 13 September 2026, turning the capital into a meeting place for friends of fine cuisine for ten days.

Points, Stars and Talent

“Everything except ordinarily good” — this is the motto of the culinary event. At the heart of the festival are the two festival weekends on the covered Rathausplatz. Here, international top chefs and leading chefs from Liechtenstein present their dishes in street-food format: uncomplicated, creative and yet at the highest level. More than 300 GaultMillau points and 20 Michelin stars underline the culinary ambition of the event. This year’s line-up is once again outstanding: Gerhard Wieser from Hotel Castel in Merano, Mitja Birlo from The Counter Zurich and “Chef of the Year 2022”, Stefan Heilemann from Widder in Zurich, Mattias Roock from Castello del Sole in Ascona, Tobias Peyerl from Verve by Sven at Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, and Christoph Rainer from IKIGAI in Krün are just some of the names representing the exceptional quality of the field. The Rocking Chefs, known throughout Europe as the rock stars of the BBQ scene, will provide extra showmanship at the grill.

The local gastronomy scene is also strongly represented. Among those taking part are Hubertus Real from Restaurant Marée and Patcharida Dill from Restaurant Engel. In short: a gathering of top gastronomy. At the same time, guests and chefs meet without barriers — a concept that makes haute cuisine approachable and gives the festival its special character. At least as important as the prominent names, however, are the producers from the region. Winegrowers, breweries, dairies, distilleries and manufactories show the diversity the Alpine region has to offer. The festival sees itself not only as a showcase for top gastronomy, but also as a stage for regional products, craftsmanship and culinary traditions.

The varied programme is complemented by numerous side events in the Städtle and the surrounding area — from tastings and exclusive gourmet evenings to special experiences centred on wine, cuisine and local specialities. The gourmet party at the Princely Winery will mark the indulgent prelude to the festival week as early as 30 August 2026. The highlight of the evening will be an exclusive nine-course menu created especially for the occasion by top chefs from Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

For the fifth time, the Genussfestival Vaduz shows what contemporary food culture looks like: open, regionally rooted and at the same time internationally influenced. An invitation to discover, taste and enjoy. En Guete!
