The E1 Moto GP is entering the next round, and this time, Lake Como in Italy is serving as the race track!

The world’s first fully electric motorboat race is taking place for the third time – this year on Lake Como in Italy. What sounds like a scene from a James Bond film is becoming reality on one of Italy’s deepest lakes. The E1 series is the first racing series for electric sports boats and promises a spectacular experience in a breathtaking setting.

A grand location and grand hosts

In the E1’s debut season, cities such as Monaco, Venice and Puerto Banús offered their hospitality. This year, the Grand Prix will take place at three venues before the first winner of the cup is crowned. The race on Lake Como starts on 23 August 2024. This time, the guest hotel is the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este. From there, numerous fans and hotel guests will be able to follow the spectacle up close. Rodi Basso, CEO and founder of E1, sees the Villa d’Este as the ‘perfect setting to hold the race, and, like Lake Como, is characterised by timeless elegance and luxury.’ According to Basso, the conditions at the lake are perfect for the competition. A total of nine teams will be competing. The Villa d’Este offers its guests 152 rooms and luxury suites, as well as four exclusive private villas. It is located directly on the shores of Lake Como, which is known for its stunning scenery and glamour. The property boasts impressive listed architecture and extensive parkland, as well as a pool floating on the lake.

Familiar faces as team leaders

The new category of motor sport is supported by a number of well-known personalities, including actor Will Smith, DJ Steve Aoki and American football star Tom Brady. They are the team leaders of nine teams competing for the title of ‘Champions of the Water’.
