Eurovision fever is gripping Switzerland: the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) will take place in 2025 in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel. Fans without tickets for the live show will still get their money’s worth at various ESC parties and public screenings, offering the chance to cheer on Zoë Më from afar.
The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is fast approaching and is already generating quite a buzz. With Swiss artist Nemo having won the contest last year with his song, ‘The Code’, this year’s event will be held in Basel. From 13 to 17 May, the city will be transformed into the centre of the international music scene.
The main event in the St. Jakobshalle
St. Jakobshalle, one of the largest event venues in Switzerland, can accommodate around 12,000 spectators. The two semi-finals on 13 and 15 May and the grand final on 17 May will take place here. Fans from all over the world will travel to experience their favourites live.
Public screenings and ESC parties in Switzerland
For those who couldn’t get a ticket for the St. Jakobshalle, there are numerous opportunities to follow the ESC in a lively atmosphere. In Basel itself, Barfüsserplatz will be the central meeting point for public viewing. All the shows will be broadcast on a big screen here, accompanied by live acts and moderators. There will also be large-scale public screenings in other Swiss cities: in Zurich, the Eurovision Village on Sechseläutenplatz will entice visitors with a comprehensive supporting programme. Geneva and Bern will also be hosting outdoor broadcasts in central squares, complete with food stands and musical acts. Numerous bars and clubs throughout Switzerland are also organising special ESC parties with themed decorations, karaoke competitions, and fan events. In the big cities in particular, it’s worth keeping an eye on social media and event calendars to discover the best locations for an unforgettable ESC evening. The ESC 2025 promises to be a thrilling event that unites fans from all over Europe and beyond. If you want to enjoy the world’s biggest music competition in the best of company, Switzerland offers numerous opportunities to do just that.
