andBeyond Unveils Suyian Lodge in Kenya

In July 2025, andBeyond Suyian Lodge opened its doors in the heart of Kenya’s Laikipia region. The lodge is the latest project from renowned South African luxury tour operator andBeyond, known for its exceptional safari experiences and sustainable conservation initiatives.

The lodge is located in the Suyian Conservancy, an 18,000-hectare area developed in partnership with the global conservation organisation Space for Giants. With the opening of the andBeyond Suyian Lodge, andBeyond is once again setting new standards in luxury and conservation.

The lodge is located in the middle of a unique ecosystem and is set to become Kenya’s new ​‘Phinda’ – Phinda, one of andBeyond’s best-known and most successful conservation initiatives, served as a model for the development of Suyian. The name ​‘Suyian’ comes from the Maasai language and means ​‘wild dog’ – an animal that can be found here, alongside more than 100 other mammal species. This underlines the wealth of wildlife to which the reserve is home.

Suyian: a new paradise for nature lovers

The diversity of wildlife is not the only treasure the Suyian reserve has to offer. Travellers can look forward to an impressive landscape consisting of vast savannahs, endless grasslands, and more than 16 kilometres of riverbank. This diverse natural environment makes Suyian a prime destination for safaris, hikes, and cultural discovery tours.

Lodge boasting unique charm and comfort

The andBeyond Suyian Lodge blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. The architecture of the lodge is based on rounded shapes and earthy colours that blend harmoniously with the surrounding rock formations. With only 14 exclusive suites, it offers a particularly private and luxurious retreat. Each suite is designed to reveal breathtaking views of the Suyian Conservation Area.

In addition to the luxurious suites, the lodge features a bar, an outdoor terrace with a private plunge pool, and a platform for spectacular sunrise views – ideal conditions for enjoying the majestic natural surroundings to the fullest.

More than just a safari

The andBeyond Suyian Lodge is more than just a place to encounter animals, it also has plenty to offer culture and history lovers. In addition to unforgettable safari experiences, guests have the opportunity to hike to see prehistoric cave paintings and artefacts from the Stone Age. The surrounding area also invites visitors to meet up with local herding tribes and learn more about their traditional way of life.
