For travellers with a penchant for design, there are three exciting new additions in South Tyrol. These new oases of tranquillity in Merano, Appiano, and the Puster Valley combine modern architecture, sustainable thinking, and refined comfort to create atmospheric works of art.

Rittstein Homes: slow luxury meets natural scenery

In Appiano, nestled amongst vineyards, the traditional Stroblhof estate is set to become home to Rittstein Homes by 2026 – six spacious apartments that combine modern architecture and natural aesthetics. Large windows, light woods, natural stone walls, and green outdoor spaces create a living environment that achieves the perfect balance of openness and intimacy. Here, guests can enjoy privacy while at the same time indulging in the amenities provided by the neighbouring hotel – from spa to breakfast.

Spazio 46: Design for two – exclusive and minimalist

A retreat for individualists: Spazio 46 near Merano is a minimalist loft for two guests, designed by Milanese architect Hannes Peer. Minimalist, stylish, international – with a rooftop pool, panoramic sauna, and fitness area, which are also open to guests of the neighbouring Pergola Residence. Part of the PERGOLA collection curated by Karin Innerhofer, Spazio 46 is a place of contemplative luxury: barefoot, no dress code – completely at home.

Boutique Biohotel Gitschberg, reimagined

In Meransen, the Boutique Biohotel Gitschberg has undergone extensive renovation and now boasts a clear, contemporary design: wooden shingles, loggias with sweeping views, and no shortage of natural light. Twenty of the newly designed rooms are equipped with high-quality Samina sleep systems, which use natural materials and place particular emphasis on healthy sleep. The public areas – from the light-flooded dining room to the panoramic terrace – also reflect the new standards: alpine aesthetics, harmoniously implemented.
