Against the stylish backdrop of Lake Como, surrounded by classic elegance and spring sunshine, BMW Motorrad unveiled its new concept model, the Concept RR. moments was there to take a closer look at the racing machine.
Even the first impression unmistakably screams high performance: the motorcycle features sharp lines, as if cut from a single block. The aluminium rear frame has a sculptural look, the light logo underneath is nicely positioned, and the ‘RR’ lettering has been specially embossed.
Technology from the Superbike World Championship
The Concept RR is guided and inspired by the machine on which Toprak Razgatlıoğlu dominated the Superbike World Championship in 2024 – producing over 230 hp from a four-cylinder engine. Traction control, engine braking, charge air cooling: everything is there, but nothing is too loud. BMW has reduced, sharpened, and distilled.
‘The RR’s mission was to show that transferring technology from the racetrack to the road is no myth.’ – Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad
A look that captivates: front headlights in a gold-carbon look
Yellow-gold and black cat-eye front headlights in a carbon effect give the impression that the bike is lurking, ready to pounce, and complete the aggressive yet straightforward aesthetic with a massive front display.
Nothing has been left to chance in terms of aerodynamics either. The air is channelled, directed, and integrated into the design everywhere you look: from the outside via the integrated winglets, while on the inside it flows through the open front to the monolithic rear.
‘At BMW, we are always open to new technologies. We are in a transition phase and know that the future lies in electric mobility. But how quickly this will happen will vary from market to market.’ – Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design
Limited edition: MEINDL calfskin jacket
To match the motorcycle, a limited edition of 50 jackets made of Nappa calf leather was presented in cooperation with MEINDL. More interested in the motorcycle lifestyle than the merchandise? Understandably, the very nice jacket was completely overshadowed by the presentation of the Concept RR.
