From 15 to 21 March 2026, panoramic views, ski slopes and international sounds converge at the Rock the Pistes Festival.
As winter enters its final phase in the Portes du Soleil, Morgins transforms into a spectacular high-altitude stage. For more than a decade, the Rock the Pistes Festival has combined skiing and live music in a format found nowhere else but in the Alps. High above the village, at La Foilleuse, winter sports enthusiasts and music lovers gather to experience concerts set against a sweeping mountain panorama. With over 600 kilometres of pistes, the Portes du Soleil ranks among the largest interconnected ski areas in the world, linking twelve French and Swiss resorts into a vast alpine region. Morgins serves as one of the charming gateways on the Swiss side, exemplifying the blend of expansive ski terrain, dramatic views and authentic character.
The concept is as simple as it is compelling: carve your turns in the snow, then dance to the beats beneath the mountain skyline. Even the journey to the venue forms part of the experience. Instead of queuing outside stadiums, visitors ascend by chairlift, greeted by open horizons before gathering in ski boots and down jackets in front of a temporary open-air stage. Amid snowfields and sun terraces, an atmosphere emerges that feels both relaxed and electrifying.
Musically, the 2026 edition stretches from electronic soundscapes to francophone hip-hop, featuring acts such as the electro duo TRINIX and the group Nèg’Marrons. The programme is complemented by après-ski concerts and events throughout the Dents du Midi region, extending the festival spirit across the weekend.
Rock the Pistes symbolises a new generation of winter events: close to nature, easily accessible and artistically ambitious. For the Valais mountain village of Morgins, the festival represents not only a welcome tourism boost, but moments when the mountains themselves become a stage and a day on the slopes flows seamlessly into a live concert experience. A harmonious fusion of alpine lifestyle and live culture.
